Revitalizing a 1950's office warehouse into the vibrant Dallas headquarters for ArchCon
In 2013, we successfully converted a classic mid-century office building designed in 1961 to a modern office building in Dallas, TX. With this experience, we at OnWorks were contacted by ArchCon, a Houston based General Contractor, to help them convert a 1950’s office warehouse into the Dallas headquarters for ArchCon and some additional lease space. The building sits just outside of downtown and outside the Design District and had been empty for a number of years.
Commencing with a site plagued by neglect, OnWorks embarked on a comprehensive restoration mission. We tackled the daunting task of demolition, followed by leveling the parking lot and revamping the exterior. From power washing to repainting, and from fixing windows to upgrading HVAC systems, every inch received attention.
Inside, our design ethos harmonized functionality with aesthetics. We introduced glass-walled offices for privacy, while maintaining an open-plan layout to foster collaboration. The central focal point became "The Venue" – a multipurpose space where employees gather for lunches and company meetings. With movable banquet tables, a multimedia wall, and a full bar, it epitomizes versatility and camaraderie.
Moreover, the entrance was reimagined to create functionality, leading seamlessly into reception, conference room, and "The Venue." Tenant spaces on the second floor were seamlessly connected via corridors.
Completing the transformation, lush landscaping and security fencing enhance the exterior appeal. Signage by OnWorks serves as a beacon, marking the entrance for ArchCon and its tenants.
Strategically located near downtown and major highways, the new headquarters epitomizes accessibility and convenience. It's not just a workplace; it's a testament to ArchCon's vision and OnWorks' commitment to excellence.
