A transformative interior design project for Citadel Partners, creating a collaborative and contemporary corporate office that enhances employee interaction and reflects Texas's unique spirit.
Overview
At OnWorks Design, we had the privilege of partnering with Citadel Partners on an ambitious interior design project for their corporate office. Spanning 6,800 square feet, this project aimed to create a modern, engaging environment that fosters collaboration and retains young talent while reflecting the unique essence of Texas.
Project Vision
Citadel Partners approached us with a clear vision: they wanted to transform their office into a space that enhances interaction among employees and clients alike. With an emphasis on clean, contemporary design infused with forward-thinking technology, the objective was to cultivate an atmosphere that promotes face-to-face interactions—a key aspect of their company culture.
Design Philosophy
The client’s vision influenced our design philosophy significantly. They envisioned a linear office layout that kept all employees connected and visible to one another. Given the unique layout of the building, with its end-cap positioning, we creatively wrapped the linear design around the core of the space. A striking blue cylinder emerged as the central organizing element, beautifully representing the colors of Citadel Partners’ logo and serving as a visual anchor within the office.
Client Story
Citadel Partners has a deep appreciation for their workspace, particularly its east and west-facing balconies, which offer breathtaking views and natural light. To avoid the complexities of a "renovate in place" project, the decision was made to move up a floor, allowing us to start with a clean slate and reimagine their office entirely.
Client Needs and Preferences
The client expressed a strong desire for a collaborative office environment featuring a central space designed for client interactions and team collaboration. The breakroom was transformed into this vital space, complemented by a glass-enclosed lounge for entertaining clients while work continues seamlessly in the background.
In terms of style, the client favored a clean, contemporary aesthetic with regional design elements that reflect the spirit of Texas. The incorporation of rugs, furniture, and artwork tied the interior design to its local context while maintaining an air of sophistication.
Functional Requirements
Key functional areas of the office included a welcoming reception area, a conference room, a breakroom, a lounge, and a dedicated Zoom room for virtual meetings. These spaces were designed not only for functionality but also to encourage spontaneous interactions among employees and clients.
Project Highlights
As the project unfolded, several innovative aspects stood out. The focus on the blue cylinder as a central design feature, coupled with strategically placed accent walls and graphics, brought the vision to life. The vibrant colors of green and blue—reflective of the Citadel Partners logo—were woven throughout the design, enhancing brand identity within the workspace.
Additionally, our team contributed to the selection of art and accessories, ensuring that the overall aesthetic felt distinctly Texan. From unique rugs to locally sourced artwork, every element was carefully chosen to enrich the contemporary space and foster a sense of place.
Project Timeline
The project commenced on September 22 and is slated for completion in May 2023, reflecting our commitment to delivering a thoughtfully designed environment within a streamlined timeline.
Conclusion
This project not only fulfills Citadel Partners’ needs for a modern office that supports collaboration and talent retention but also positions them competitively against national brokerage firms. By creating a space that embodies their values and enhances employee experience, we are proud to contribute to their ongoing success.
As we move forward, we look forward to showcasing the final results through compelling visual assets, including photos, renderings, and 3D views, that capture the essence of this remarkable transformation. Together, we’re building a vibrant future for Citadel Partners, where design meets functionality in the heart of Texas.
It can be difficult to visualize a three dimensional space from a flat drawing, so OnWorks has standardized all our renderings into 3D with video walkthroughs so you can truly understand your space well before it is built.
